"A House committee rebuked the Trump administration’s 2017 conclusion that the century-old Migratory Bird Act doesn’t criminalize the accidental killing of migratory birds by industry.
The House Natural Resources Committee on Wednesday advanced the bipartisan Migratory Bird Protection Act (H.R. 5552), sponsored by Rep. Alan Lowenthal (D-Calif.). It would amend the Migratory Bird Treaty Act to affirm that the law applies to accidental bird deaths by commercial activities, such as oil and gas development.
The committee also forwarded an offshore wind energy jobs bill (H.R. 3068) to the full House."
