Meet SEJ member Sam Baker! For the past four years, Sam has been hosting and producing the radio program and podcast, Living Planet for DW (Germany's international broadcaster). The show brings listeners environment stories from around the globe each week. In this role, Sam has hosted Twitter Spaces on climate disinformation and COP27, worked with reporters around the world to cover just about every environmental issue you can think of, and interviewed countless guests on the science and solutions needed to address the climate crisis and other environmental problems. As a freelancer, Sam also produces episodes for the BBC's CrowdScience. Most recently, she produced a two-part CrowdScience series from Greenland seeking to answer "How long before all the ice melts?" and "Where do we go when the seas rise?" Last year, along with Out There's Willow Belden, Sam won an International Women's Podcast Award for 'Changing The World One Moment at a Time' with the Out There episode "America’s Best Idea?" that she produced. The episode examined the national stories we tell through our national parks.

When asked how SEJ membership makes her job easier, Sam said, “SEJ keeps me up-to-date with the latest and best environment reporting from around the world with their daily news roundups, connecting me to other environment reporters and the stories they’re covering."
