Meet SEJ member Katherine Cheng! Katherine is a photographer and videojournalist at Global News, based between Canada and Hong Kong. Prior to joining Global News, she was a reporting and video intern with Thomson Reuters and Agence France-Presse in the Hong Kong bureaus. Exploring themes of social resistance, the climate crisis and cultural identity, her work has most recently appeared in The Narwhal, the Globe and Mail and the Washington Post.
When asked if she recommends SEJ membership for her colleagues, Katherine said, "Yes, as the issue grows more urgent and time runs out on minimizing harm, we have a responsibility to work together and hold those in power accountable." Join us — apply for SEJ membership.
