Meet SEJ member Aman Azhar! Aman is a Washington, D.C.-based journalist covering climate and environmental issues for Inside Climate News, with focus on the mid-Atlantic region. He has previously worked as a broadcast journalist and multimedia producer for global news networks, including the BBC World Service, VOA News and other international news organizations. He holds a graduate degree in Anthropology of Media from University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and an MA in Political Science from the University of the Punjab. Aman is the recipient of the Chevening scholarship from the UK government and an academic scholarship for graduate studies from the Australian government. He enjoys photography and music as much as writing about environmental issues.
When asked if he recommends SEJ membership to his colleagues, Aman said, "I'd highly recommend other journalists, particularly from diaspora communities, to consider joining SEJ. It's a highly dynamic platform with excellent resources and networking opportunities, which are hard to come by. And opportunities like mentoring and volunteering are excellent ways to get involved."
