Six Indigenous fellows will have the opportunity to work at APTN News in Winnipeg, Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver or Whitehorse for six months, and attend IJA’s 2025 Indigenous Media Conference. The Society of Professional Journalists' New America Award honors public service journalism that explores and exposes issues of importance to immigrant or ethnic communities in the United States. Although not required, collaboration with ethnic media is taken into account. Deadline is Mar 11, 2025.

Her victory over 32 “Chunk” also felt deeply personal for legions of her online fans; earlier this summer, Grazer’s enormous rival attacked the second of her offspring, who later died of the injuries."

In Visit, EPA Head Vows To Address Environmental Injustices In Watts

"During a visit to the Jordan Downs public housing complex in Watts on Saturday morning, EPA Administrator Michael Regan said the agency is working with state and federal partners to address elevated lead levels in the community’s drinking water and pollution from scrap metal recycler S&W Atlas Iron & Metal Co."
