July 11, 2012—Congratulations to Canadian SEJ member Silver Donald Cameron, who just last week was appointed by the Governor General to the Order of Canada, the country's highest civilian honor, for his work as a "journalist, writer, educator and community activist."
One of Canada's most successful and versatile authors, Cameron, now distinguished with post-nominal initials C.M., has written plays, radio and TV scripts, innumerable magazine articles, and 17 books, including two novels. He was for 13 years a columnist with the Halifax Sunday Herald. A noted educator, he has served in various capacities at eight universities.
Currently, Dr. Cameron is the host and executive producer of The Green Interview, a subscription website devoted to intense, extended conversations with the brilliant thinkers and activists who are leading the way to a sustainable future, including Vandana Shiva, Farley Mowat, Satish Kumar, James Lovelock, Jane Goodall and the Prime Minister of Bhutan. Through a partnership with Gale Cengage Learning, The Green Interview is available in 15,000 libraries around the world. A professional discount is available to SEJ members.
