"President Joe Biden is calling for $1.2 billion next fiscal year for the international Green Climate Fund, resurrecting climate and clean energy funding for developing nations cut off during the Trump administration.
The request for fiscal 2022—though subject to Congress’ approval—signals an about-face for U.S. support for the United Nations program to help developing nations shift to clean energy and deal with the storms and flooding that have been exacerbated by climate change.
Biden’s request is more than double the last $500 million payment the Obama administration made days before Donald Trump took office in 2017 and zeroed-out further payments."
