DEADLINE: Metcalf Institute's Annual Science Immersion Workshop for Journalists

Event Date:
February 14, 2025

Metcalf Institute’s signature journalism workshop will focus this year on how food systems are being affected by global climate change. We’ll explore both traditional Western approaches to food systems and explore traditional ecological knowledge and Indigenous food ways. The 27th Annual Science Immersion Workshop for Journalists will take place June 8-13, 2025, at the URI Main Campus in Kingston, Rhode Island, and Graduate School of Oceanography, one of the nation’s premier research institutions, on Narragansett Bay.

Metcalf Fellows will gain a solid foundation in the fundamentals of research practice, climate science, and adaptation measures from leading researchers and policy makers.

Open to full-time professional journalists, including independent journalists, working in any medium looking to learn more about research and topics relating to climate change science, impacts, adaptation, and justice.

Deadline: Feb. 14, 2025

More information.

Metcalf Institute strives to create a diverse and inclusive Fellowship cohort and we strongly encourage journalists from underrepresented backgrounds and those covering communities most affected by climate change to apply.
