DEADLINE: Jaime Espina Klima Correspondents Fellowship

Event Date:
November 8, 2024

In 2022, the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities (ICSC) launched the Jaime Espina Klima Correspondents Fellowship, aiming to provide space for climate and energy stories in Philippine communities by training provincial journalists and media practitioners. The Fellowship offered a six-month story grant, where 14 journalists (seven groups, with one reporter and one editor each) from Luzon and Mindanao were chosen as Fellows, producing seven compelling stories on the energy transition and low-carbon development. These stories were published in the respective groups’ media publications and presented on ICSC’s website through “Klima Reports: A Compendium of Stories under the Jaime Espina Klima Correspondents Fellowship.”

This 2024, ICSC is again calling on journalists and visual storytellers to apply for the second year of the Jaime Espina Klima Correspondents Fellowship. This year’s run of the Fellowship is open to all professional journalists across the Philippines. The Fellowship will select 10 teams of Fellows while striving to maintain balanced representation across the different regions and island groups in the Philippines. Each team will receive a grant of up to P100,000, based on the budget proposal they will submit as part of their application.

Deadline: Nov 1, 2024 extended to Nov 8
