Conference Call To Discuss New Report "The Hardest Working River in the West: Common-Sense Solutions for a Reliable Water Future for the Colorado River Basin"
American Rivers and Western Resource Advocates will release a report Thursday, July 17, 2014 entitled "The Hardest Working River in the West: Common-Sense Solutions for a Reliable Water Future for the Colorado River Basin." The paper defines the exact solutions to our water woes — solutions that are fast, effective and affordable – and will ensure that we have enough water in wet or dry years, while still protecting our natural Western environment.
Colorado River water shortages have and will continue to pose a growing threat to businesses, agriculture and population water needs in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. You are aware of current events driving the need for solutions —Lakes Mead and Powell are at historic levels; California is experiencing devastating drought; rural communities being hit hard by drying farms.
This Thursday (7/17), at 11 a.m. MST/ 10 a.m. PST, Bart Miller, WRA's Water Program Director, and Matt Rice, American Rivers' Director of Colorado Conservation, will host a call to discuss the solutions presented in the new paper.
